Daniel & Desiree at the Beach

Gibraltar

romantic elopers run to the beach

Ok, it’s not actually possible to married at the beach in Gibraltar, but we can go there right after your ceremony. This is exactly what Daniel & Desiree wanted to do. They traveled all the way from Germany so they wanted some different and fun wedding photo’s of their elopement to Gibraltar. For them that meant going to the beach.

There are sea views and access to the ocean all around Gibraltar but you will only find sand on the east side of the rock. The sandy beach at Catalan Bay is perfect for morning shoots. In high season this has the added advantage of being cooler and less busy. The beaches in high season get very over crowded.

Pro Tip! I don’t recommend these sandy beaches in Gibraltar after around 3 pm. As the sun passes of the rock casting a huge shadow over the beach and across the water. It can make for difficult lighting conditions. If you get married in the afternoon there are other rocky alternatives, which I believe are even better. Drop me a line to find out more.

Daniel & Desire got married at the Dell in The Alameda Gardens. We took advantage of the stunning tropical gardens for some photos after the ceremony and then went to the beach. It was possible to do all this in my basic “Paper” wedding photography package. Contact me to find out more about photography for your wedding.
